Wow! It’s been a busy fall for all 3 PYD groups, PYD2, Crew, and Company. The dancers have been working with guest choreographers Jason Berube, Isiah “MoveLikeZay” Beasley, Annie Erkinnen, Lynn Peterson of SYREN Modern Dance, and Kristin Sutton. This winter, dancers are working on creating original works for the PYD Student Choreography Showcase, which will be held on February 11th in the Casco Bay Movers Studio Theater. Dancers will then be working with a new group of choreographers, including Izzy Ball of Little House Dance Co, Elizabeth Lau of Casco Bay Movers, Kaitlyn Hayes of Portland Ballet, and more!

PYD performed in Light Up The Park in Portland on Saturday, September 24th. View photos of the event here.
PYD will perform in Fall Into Art at Collective Motion Arts Center on Sunday, October 16th.
PYD dancers will perform in the Thriller Throwdown event in Monument Square on Friday, October 28th. View information here.
PYD Company dancers participated and performed in the Massachusetts High School Dance Festival held at Salem State University on Saturday, November 19th.
PYD Crew dancers will perform in World of Dance in Boston on Sunday, November 20th.
All PYD groups performed in Casco Bay Movers Holiday Shows held on December 17th in CBM’s studio theater.
PYD dancers will attend Memphis Jookin on January 31 at Merrill Auditorium.
PYD dancers will present and produce a showcase of their own works on Saturday, February 11th, at 5 & 7 pm in the CBM Studio Theater. Donations in lieu of tickets.
PYD is thrilled to bring back one of our favorite events of the year! The Exchange, where studio and street dancers meet, on Saturday, March 18th, 12:30-4:30 pm at South Portland Community Center. $5 to battle, $10 to observe. If cost is a barrier, please reach out!
Several PYD dancers performed in Casco Bay Movers’ Cabin Fever Show on Sunday, March 26. Proceeds generated from this performance provided scholarships for summer dance camps.
PYD presents the May Show – A Year in the Making, on Saturday, May 13 at 3 pm at the Winslow Homer Center for the Arts at Scarborough High School.
