Portland Youth Dance seeks a director for its youth hip hop dance crew ages 10-18 to run weekly rehearsals approximately 2 hours per week. Qualified candidates would be an adult dancer/dance teacher that is well versed in hip hop dance styles, culture, and history. Willing to lead and mentor a group of young hip-hop dancers. Responsible for hiring choreographers to set work on the crew and cleaning such pieces.  Would possess strong communication skills both written and verbal with both teens and parents. 

PYD is a non-competitive dance company with a focus on cultivating community, fostering respectful relationships, and mentoring dancers to be leaders in the community.  Our dance process focuses on offering diverse dance styles and experiences, educational opportunities, creating opportunities for student choreography, and providing high-quality choreography that supports the dancers’ growth.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week. September – June

Rehearsal time slots: Fridays 4-6 pm
